Anna Belle was born July 5, 1931 in Barons, Alberta where she lived until she met the love of her life Alroy Travis. They married on February 6, 1950. For many years they resided on their farm south east of Claresholm raising their family. Mom was passionate about farm life, particularly tending livestock. That passion and her love of gardening gave her a great deal of pride in being able to provide for her family. In addition, Mom inherited from her father a lifelong love of horses that she also shared with her children.
After the children moved away from the farm she continued to provide a warm and loving home to others in need. She was a very talented crafter and created many beautiful quilts and knitted items. Mom was also an amazing cook and it made for many wonderful dinners together. Anna Belle drove school bus for 26 years making lifelong connections with the children on her route . She was an active member of community groups including the Eastern Star Ladies and Royal Purple. In 2006 it was time to retire and a new home was built in Claresholm where she lived until 2017. She spent the past year at the Claresholm Continuing Care Centre.
Respecting Anna Belle's wishes, no formal service will be held. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna Belle's memory may be made to the Claresholm and District Health Foundation P.O. Box 2638, Claresholm, Alberta T0L 0T0.
