Margaret (McKee) BaskinOctober 23, 1924 ~ December 5, 2017 (age 93)
Margaret Baskin (nee McKee) passed away peacefully on December 5, 2017. She was born in Claresholm on October 23, 1924. Margaret was predeceased by her husband David Baskin (2013). She is survived by her son Dale (Nancy); daughter Donna (Ron) MacKay; she was the proud grandma of grandsons Matt (Leigh-Ann) Baskin, Ian MacKay and Jess (Jenn) MacKay; great-grandchildren Peyton and Cierra Baskin and Hayden, Luxxin, Jace and Jozie MacKay. Margaret is also survived by her brother Bob (Kaye) McKee; sister-in-law Ruth Baskin; as well as nieces and nephews.
Margaret was raised on a farm west of Claresholm and worked as a telephone operator after completing her schooling. She met her husband Dave when he was a telegraph operator at the CPR Station in Claresholm.
Marg and Dave had many moves and adventures in their lifetime but returned to the Claresholm area after retirement. Margaret enjoyed being an amazing cook and pursuing a variety of crafts and gardening. Margaret also loved curling and participated in leagues and bonspiels in every town they lived. She never missed watching the Tournament of Hearts! She loved spending time with her family and friends and always made sure that there was plenty of homemade goodies and great coffee.
A private family service was held. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre for all their kindness and care of Margaret.
